Dairygold shortlisted as one of the best in Europe (01 November 2009)

 

Dairygold Food Ingredients, the UK’s largest and most progressive supplier of cheese-based ingredients, is celebrating this week, after its zero salt soft cheese made the shortlist of three products for a prestigious Food Ingredients Europe award.
 
The awards, which are presented at the Food Ingredients Europe Show in Frankfurt (17-19 November) for innovations across a broad spectrum of food and drink categories, recognise businesses which have delivered groundbreaking work throughout the past year.
        
“To be nominated in the Dairy Innovation of the Year category is a major achievement in itself,” says Aidan Fitzsimons, Dairygold’s Innovation Director, “as we faced strong competition in a very broad category from food producers across Europe, and to reach the final three in this prestigious competition is thrilling. Our research and development team has worked tirelessly to create a cheese with a reduced salt profile that still tastes and consistently performs as well as the conventional product, and I am delighted that their hard work has been recognised in this nomination. 
 
Following a day of judging by an esteemed panel of European experts, the awards will be presented at a glittering event at the FIE Show on 17 November.   Products from across Europe have been nominated across the six categories to be judged, with the six category winners moving on to be assessed in the Most Innovative Food Ingredients Excellence Award 2009.
