In order to advertise its products on the dynamic Middle Eastern market, Dairygold Food Ingredients will be exhibiting at Gulfood show in Dubai for the first time this year. The show will take place from February 27th to March 3rd 2011 at Dubai World Trade Center.
Mick Cunningham - technical sales manager, Vincent Skowera - flavour technology manager and Delphine Chevallier - applications specialist, will be greeting visitors at stand M-J33 in hall Sheikh Maktoum.
On the show, Dairygold Food Ingredients will emphasize their ranges of dairy commodities and cheese powders. The high quality dairy commodities offered by the company include Irish cheddar cheese, butter, milk powders, milk proteins and 90% demineralised whey powder. The cheese powder range, marketed under the brand “Taste..discovering flavour”, includes cheddar, emmental, gouda, blue cheese and many more. These ingredients are particularly appropriate for the production of processed cheese, a popular product in the Middle East and whose market has been growing quickly in the past few years.
Gulfood is one of the most important food shows in the world and the Middle East’s leading dedicated exhibition for the food, drink and hospitality sectors. Each year, over 3,500 companies exhibit to meet and do business with over 55,000 industry buyers from over 152 countries.
As a consequence, the event will be a great opportunity for Dairygold Food Ingredients to meet key players on the Middle Eastern market and hopefully to start building a long-term partnership with them.
Dairygold Food Ingredients trusts this participation in Gulfood will be the first of many and that new business opportunities will emerge from it.

For the second year in a row Dairygold Food Ingredients will be exhibiting at CFIA show in Rennes, France, from March 15th to March 17th 2011.
Visitors will be able to meet the sales and technical teams in hall 7 - stand B28 to learn more about Dairygold Food Ingredients’ products and discuss new or on-going projects.
For Dairygold Food Ingredients, the show will be particularly focussed on the Cheese Solutions offered by its French site: processed cheese and “Taste.. discovering flavour” cheese/dairy powders. The French R&D and application teams will be cooking on the stand to show visitors how these cheese solutions can be used in their applications.
Based in the heart of Europe’s leading agri-food region, CFIA (Carrefour des Fournisseurs de l’Industrie Alimentaire - Agri-Food Industry Suppliers Meeting Place) is the first French event dedicated to all food industry professionals. The show is organised in 3 different sectors - ingredients, equipment/processing and packaging - and brings together around 1,200 exhibitors every year.
Last year, the show attracted 11,800 visitors from all industry departments (R&D, production, maintenance, purchasing and many more).
CFIA show is therefore a perfect opportunity for visitors to keep an eye on market trends and source ingredients, for instance. For exhibitors, the show is also a chance to strengthen relationships with existing customers and to meet new potential ones.
Dairygold Food Ingredients hope this event will be as successful as last year’s and that new projects will emerge from it.

Dairygold welcomes the decision by Danone to invest €50 million in its manufacturing facility in Macroom and the agreement to retain Dairygold as a key raw material supplier for the expanded facility.
The Enterprise Ireland supported investment will fund a redevelopment and expansion of the existing Macroom processing plant which is expected to treble its production capacity to 100,000 tonnes annually with the consequent increase in raw material requirements.
Dairygold had been in negotiations with the company on the Macroom requirement for a number of months. Our success in securing the supply agreement is further confirmation by the global food company of Dairygold’s excellence in the manufacture of quality dairy ingredients to the highest international standards. Danone confirmed that one of three key decisions to locate the investment in Macroom was the availability of quality raw materials.
Danone’s raw material requirement for the new Macroom facility covers both Skim Milk Concentrate and De-mineralised Whey. Dairygold features as one of the top producers of De-mineralised Whey globally and the Infant Milk Formula sector is the predominant user of this ingredient, therefore a long term alliance that guarantees significant volumes is of great strategic importance to Dairygold.
The supply agreement for the Macroom facility is important for Dairygold for three reasons;
• It strengthens the relationship between Dairygold and Danone, a Fortune 500 company with €15 billion in global sales and a huge dairy ingredient requirement.
• It gives blue chip endorsement to the Co-op’s claims of manufacturing and product quality excellence, which will strengthen our reputation among large international customers.
• It is very timely coming as it does as the Co-op prepares for the expansion of its milk business in line with the forecasts indicted in Department’s Harvest 2020 Report.
The decision is also a huge positive for the Irish dairy industry. The infant milk formula sector is strategically very important to the Irish Dairy Industry as we are the locally based raw material suppliers to a sector that accounts for over €670 million in export sales for the country. This represents between 15 and 20 per cent of the global infant milk formulae market. Ireland is becoming a centre of excellence for Infant Milk Formulae manufacture, a business that continues to grow in line with growing demand for large developing markets like China. 98% of the output from Macroom will be exported and commercialized in more than 60 countries worldwide.
It is important then for the Irish dairy industry to retain world class customers like Danone Infant Nutrition and the Macroom investment demonstrates their continue commitment to Ireland. Macroom is the single largest investment Danone has made in its baby nutrition division globally and on completion in 2012, it will be the largest and most technologically advanced manufacturing centre in Danone Baby Nutrition’s Global network.
Construction at Macroom is planned to begin in 2011 with operations scheduled for 2012. Dairygold is set to make a €5 million investment in its Mitchelstown facilities to facilitate the supply agreement.
Dairygold is well positioned to grow its business with Danone in both Infant Formula ingredients and other Danone dairy ingredient supply requirements.a
