Dairygold Food Ingredients (DFI Ireland) head office is located in Mitchelstown.

Dairygold Food Ingredients Ltd (DFI) is Ireland’s second largest milk producer, processing over c. 960 million litres annually into top quality dairy products. Based in the heart of Ireland’s fertile milk producing region, we source our milk solely from shareholders’ grass-fed herds based in the temperate climate of South West Ireland.

Operating from 4 Irish-based processing facilities we produce a broad range of dairy ingredients with two facilities concentrating on cheese production and two others on dairy powders.

Our Mitchelstown Cheddar facility manufactures prize winning Irish Cheddar.The facility opened in 1932 and is now the largest in Ireland & UK with weekly production capacity of 12 Million Liters of milk and 45,000 tonnes of cheese per annum. With the benefit of a €20m investment in class leading technology our cheddar is manufactured to traditional recipes with milk sourced exclusively from our shareholders’ farms. Our Irish Cheddar is sold worldwide through our UK, German and Spanish offices.

At our Mogeely speciality cheese facility, we develop recipes for new cheese varieties which fuse together the artisan traditions of cheese-making with the advanced technical expertise. The Mogeely facility produces approx 10,000mt of premium speciality cheese, with three different production technologies and multiple formatting options providing optimum flexibility. Our proactive development program ensures a continual pipeline of new innovative cheeses with a particular focus on flavour, health and nutrition.

DFI’s Dairy powder processing site located at Mitcheltown comprises the world’s largest 90% Demineralised whey facility and produces almost 20% of the supply of rennet casein. Skimmed Milk Powder is also produced in smaller quantities at the Mitchelstown site.

The Mallow dairy powder manufacturing site comprises a Full Cream Milk powder and speciality proteins production operation.
